The Intermountain Regional Landfill in Fairfield will be closing early on Saturday, Dec. 6 at 1 p.m. The landfill will reopen at 8 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 8 at 8 a.m.

Eagle Mountain City will hold the annual Children’s Day Angel Garden Ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 6, from 6–7:30 p.m. at Pony Express Memorial Cemetery.
This tradition honors the memory of the children laid to rest there and offers families a peaceful space for reflection and healing. Attendees are invited to write messages on provided ornaments and place them on the cemetery’s Christmas tree.
The ceremony will conclude with a lantern launch at 7 p.m.
Eagle Mountain residents in state Senate District 11 can help choose the Forward Party’s nominee to replace Sen. Dan Thatcher. All registered voters, regardless of party, are eligible to participate.
Candidates for the seat include Tynley Bean, Maleah Bliss, Emily Buss, Jeff Marshall, and Jeff Saunders.

Prefer help in person? Visit the in-person voting location at the Valley Crossroads Chamber of Commerce at 3688 E. Campus Dr. on Tuesday, Dec. 9, or Thursday, Dec. 11, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Eagle Mountain City is anticipating a vacant City Council seat.
An official notice of vacancy will be posted on Jan. 1, 2026. Community members interested in being considered will have until 5 p.m. on Jan. 14 to submit a letter of interest via email at recorder@eaglemountain.gov, or in person at 1650 Stagecoach Run.
Applicants may include as much information as they feel is helpful, such as a Resume or simply their name and statement of interest.
The Council will hold applicant interviews on Thursday, Jan. 15 at 5 p.m. in an open and public meeting, with a final decision expected that evening.

Silent Santa offers quiet, one-on-one time with Santa for children and adults with sensory sensitivities. With one in five children experiencing sensory sensitivity, this event provides a calm, supportive environment for meaningful holiday moments.
Caregivers are welcome to guide the experience based on individual needs. Light refreshments will be available while supplies last.
