Water Dept. Provides Update For White Hills Subdivision
Eagle Mountain City’s water department recently made a change to the drinking water system in the White Hills subdivision.
As part of an ongoing upgrade process, chlorine was introduced to the area’s water system. Because of this process, residents might notice a slight change in the water’s taste or smell.
“Chlorination is a standard, state‑approved method for drinking water disinfection,” the department shared. “While some residents may notice a mild change in taste or smell, the water remains safe to drink and use as normal.”

Historically, Eagle Mountain City has not chlorinated the water supply in the White Hills area. However, ongoing upgrades at the White Hills well site will include the installation of a permanent chlorination system. This enhancement is necessary to maintain compliance with Utah’s drinking water regulations and to support the long‑term reliability and safety of our water system.
“This temporary chlorination is connected to the construction and commissioning of the new White Hills Water Storage Tank,” the water department added. “Chlorine was added during this phase to ensure water quality and safety as the new infrastructure is brought online.”
The City greatly appreciates the patience of our residents as we complete these important improvements to our water infrastructure. These upgrades will help ensure that Eagle Mountain City continues to provide safe, dependable drinking water for our growing community.
