Stage 1 Fire Restrictions Now In Effect

Effective June 10, 2026, the State of Utah has issued Stage 1 fire restrictions for all unincorporated areas of Utah County due to extremely dry vegetation and hot, dry weather. While the order doesn’t apply to private property within Eagle Mountain city limits, it does cover the open lands surrounding our community—and with conditions this dry, we encourage all residents to follow these precautions wherever they are.

Under the restrictions, open fires are prohibited except in approved fire rings or grills at developed campgrounds with pressurized running water, or in permanently constructed fire pits at private residences with a pressurized water system. Also prohibited: smoking outdoors (except in enclosed vehicles or buildings, developed recreation sites, or paved areas clear of dry vegetation); fireworks, tracer ammunition, exploding targets, and other pyrotechnics; cutting, welding, or grinding metal near dry vegetation; and operating motorcycles, chainsaws, ATVs, or other small engines without a working spark arrestor. Violations are punishable by up to 6 months in jail and a $1,000 fine, and will be enforced by county law enforcement. The restrictions remain in place until rescinded by the State Forester.
