Sage Canyon Middle School reveals official logo after community contest

After nearly a year of collaboration and creativity, the wait is finally over: Sage Canyon Middle School has officially revealed its new logo—a coyote howling in front of a full moon.

The design, selected through a community contest, will now represent Sage Canyon’s students, families, and staff.

“I love our new logos!” said Principal Brian Jolley. “It was only seven months ago that we didn’t even have boundaries—let alone a great name and mascot. And here we are in May with a beautiful name and a great-looking mascot that our community is going to love.”

The school held a series of activities designed to introduce the coyote-themed brand to the community. The celebration kicked off with a social media teaser featuring student and staff reactions as they see the logo for the first time.

That moment sets the stage for a community-wide scavenger hunt, where residents in the feeder school neighborhoods can search for hidden pieces of the new logo.

Participants were encouraged to snap a photo with any piece they found and tag Sage Canyon’s official social media pages. As more pieces were discovered, the full logo came into view.

The brand rollout includes two primary logos and four word marks that incorporate the school’s signature colors and fonts.

Principal Jolley also expressed appreciation for Frontier Middle School, which has been the temporary home for many Sage Canyon students and staff.

“We feel fortunate to now be joining hand and hand with our frontier middle school friends on helping prepare these great middle school students to be successful at Cedar Valley high school,” says Jolley. “We recognize the great tradition that frontier has already established and feel a huge desire to create a similar experience so that all kids come prepared to be successful at Cedar Valley high.”

Sage Canyon Middle School is anticipated to open to students later this year.
