Mountain View Corridor construction update
Progress continues on the Mountain View Corridor extension in Saratoga Springs, with the project now approximately 75% complete. Here’s a summary of recent developments and what to expect next:
Key Updates
- Southbound Lane Paving: Last week, one of the two southbound lane segments on 800 West, from Pioneer Crossing to 1200 North, was paved. Once the utility poles are removed, expected in the first week of December, the contractor will complete paving the remaining lane areas. This timeline remains subject to weather and scheduling.
- Lane Striping: Most of the directional arrows and lane markings for new and future turn and through lanes have been painted, enhancing road clarity and traffic flow.
- Turn Lane Restored: The southbound left-turn lane from Mountain View Corridor onto eastbound Pioneer Crossing has been reopened to traffic.
- Through Lane Added: A second southbound through lane, crossing Pioneer Crossing to connect to 800 West, has been striped and is now in use.
- Curb and Gutter Work Completed: The turn radius, curb, and gutter installations at the north and south ends of this section of 800 West were completed last week, followed by paving on Wednesday.
- Multi-Use Pathway Preparation: Grading and smoothing for the new multi-use pathway along the corridor are ongoing, ensuring future access for pedestrians and cyclists.
Looking Ahead
The removal of utility poles is a critical milestone, scheduled for early December. Once completed, contractors will return to pave the remaining outside lane. Weather conditions may affect this timeline, but crews are working diligently to minimize delays.
