Lanes Reducing on Pony Express Pkwy. During Construction

UTA-Bus-Stop

UPDATE: Traffic will be reduced to one lane for this project from April 6-11 from 8 AM-4 PM

Starting at 9:00 AM on Thursday March 26, residents will see traffic reduced to one lane in each direction on Pony Express Parkway between Clear Rock Road and Plum Creek Drive. This work is part of the infrastructure improvements to support pedestrian access to the new UTA Park and Ride construction.

The project will be completed in two phases:

While most work happens behind the curb, lane closures are necessary for loading excavation materials and pouring concrete to ensure the safety of construction crews.

According to Assistant City Engineer David Salazar, this will help with improving commuter options for Eagle Mountain residents, “This line would connect to the FrontRunner, and from there, they can travel up and down the valley. It also helps folks take the bus into Eagle Mountain, which is big for supporting businesses—both for patrons and employees.”

Lane reductions will take place from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM daily (with the exception of April 6-11 when lane reductions will take place from 8 AM-4 PM). By keeping the road fully open during peak morning and evening hours, the goal is to make sure commuter traffic remains unaffected. The lane work is estimated to be completed by the end of June 2026.
