Roundabout work necessitates left turn alternatives
Eagle Mountain City acknowledges the frustrations many residents are feeling as construction continues at the Eagle Mountain Blvd. and Pony Express Pkwy. intersection.
While the temporary inconvenience is undeniable, the goal of this project is to enhance long-term traffic flow and ensure the safety of both drivers and pedestrians. City officials are committed to balancing improvements with safety and appreciate the community’s patience and cooperation during this important infrastructure upgrade. It’s because safety is a top priority, that the City is taking a firm stance on traffic during the ongoing intersection project.
Assistant City Engineer David Salazar reminds residents that no left turns will be tolerated, with legal consequences for blatant violations. “These are legally enforceable signs,” Salazar emphasizes.
To help ensure compliance, the Utah County Sheriff’s Office will be monitoring the area and may issue citations to those who do not follow the restriction
Enforcement Details:
- Legally posted signs prohibit left turns
- Utah County Sheriffs will actively monitor the intersection
- Violations will result in enforceable infractions
Alternative Route Recommendations:
- Use Pole Canyon Road
- Utilize SR-73
- Take Lake Mountain Road
- Perform U-turns where safe
- Make right turns and reroute
Project Timeline:
- Expected Completion: Mid-July, before school starts
- Current construction phase allows one lane of traffic in each direction
- Temporary lane shifts will occur every few weeks
“We ask residents to be patient,” Salazar says. “We are making these improvements to create better traffic flow.”
Residents are urged to follow signage, drive slowly, and plan alternative routes during construction. The Engineering department along with Eagle Mountain City appreciates commuters’ patience and cooperation at this time.
