The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers are now conducting clean-up operations at the Golden Eagle North Munitions Response Site, a 51-acre parcel of land adjacent to the Ranches neighborhood.

While no military structures remain on the site, investigators believe munitions such as 37-millimeter and 75-millimeter projectiles may have been used in training exercises between World War I and World War II.

The Utah National Guard has emphasized there is no immediate threat to the public. However, residents should avoid entering undeveloped areas while the Army Corps of Engineers conduct the clean-up.

Testimonials

Still has open spaces with outdoor recreation opportunities and still a safe place for wildlife. I hope that never changes. I love that my kids can leave the house and have outdoor adventures in the hills.

We love Eagle Mountain. It has the small, close-knit feel but is close to everything.

Eagle Mountain has been a great place to live. I love the open space for hiking, biking, and exploring nature with my kids in our own backyard. The area is kid-friendly with plenty of parks.
