Eagle Mountain City honors Lt. Eckles for service

Lieutenant BJ Eckles was formally recognized for his 18 years of dedicated service with the Utah County Sheriff’s Office on Jan. 20.

Over the course of his career, Lt. Eckles has been a steady and trusted presence in the Eagle Mountain community, contributing to public safety efforts and working to build strong relationships between law enforcement and residents. His leadership and commitment to service have played an important role in the growth and safety of the city as Eagle Mountain has continued to expand.

As part of the recognition, Chief Deputy Erik Knutzen presented Lt. Eckles with a plaque honoring his years of service, dedication and professionalism. The presentation highlighted Lt. Eckles’ impact not only within the Sheriff’s Office but also throughout the Eagle Mountain community he served.

Lt. Eckles has accepted a new position as Investigations Division Commander for the Utah County Sheriff’s Office, where he will continue his law enforcement career in a leadership role focused on investigative operations.

Eckles spoke of his time serving Eagle Mountain saying, “The truth is, after 18 years of service, there’s no way to put into words what this city means to me and what this community means to me.”
