Library Toy Closet returns to bring holiday cheer

The Eagle Mountain Public Library is once again helping local families celebrate the holidays through its Toy Closet project, offering gifts to children whose families may be facing financial challenges.

Donations of new, unused toys are still being accepted at the library, helping to stock the Toy Closet for the season. Residents interested in seeing what has been collected so far can reach out to library staff.

The Toy Closet will officially open on Sunday, Dec. 8 at 12 p.m. and will remain available to Eagle Mountain residents in need until Saturday, Dec. 20 at 1 p.m. During this time, families can select gifts for their children, helping ensure every child can experience the joy of the holidays.

Library Director Michele Graves said the initiative grew from the library’s ongoing commitment to support the community.

“We already have a food pantry in place, and last year we felt it was time to go a step further,” Graves said. “Families face a lot of financial pressure around the holidays. The Toy Closet is our way of helping ease that stress while making sure children still feel the joy and excitement of the season.”

The project debuted last year and received an overwhelmingly positive response.

“For some, it meant the difference between having presents under the tree and going without,” Graves said. “It reminded us how even small acts of kindness can have a ripple effect across the community.”

Residents are encouraged to donate toys of all types and sizes.

The Toy Closet is open exclusively to Eagle Mountain residents, and families are invited to visit between Dec. 8 and Dec. 21 to choose gifts.
