Temporary Water Conservation Request Update

Water Conservation Request

Last week, Eagle Mountain City asked residents to conserve water and temporarily reduce outdoor water use while crews worked to repair a mechanical failure affecting one of the City’s water pressure zones.

City crews have made significant progress, and repairs are currently underway. Through adjustments completed to date, the immediate risk of water pressure dropping below critical levels has been reduced.

Although repairs are progressing, the affected water source is not yet operating at full capacity. To help maintain reliable water pressure while repairs are completed, the City continues to ask residents, particularly those in the affected pressure zone, to conserve water and limit outdoor irrigation.

Until repairs are complete, we ask for the community’s continued support by following the temporary irrigation schedule. Homes with odd-numbered addresses should irrigate on odd-numbered days, and homes with even-numbered addresses should irrigate on even-numbered days. Residents are also encouraged to reduce the frequency and duration of irrigation cycles whenever possible and postpone non-essential outdoor water use, such as washing vehicles or filling swimming pools.

Please see the map below for the areas where residents are asked to temporarily reduce irrigation and conserve water while repairs are completed.

Your continued cooperation is helping maintain reliable water service throughout the community while repairs continue, reducing the likelihood that more restrictive measures will become necessary.

We sincerely appreciate the community’s patience, cooperation, and responsible water use. Your efforts are making a meaningful difference as our crews work to restore the system to full operating capacity. Additional updates will be provided as repairs progress.

Please note: Ranches Golf Club is on a separate well that is not culinary grade. The golf course’s system has no impact on the City’s in the event you see their sprinklers in use.

Lawn Watering Recommendations

As summer temperatures continue to rise, Eagle Mountain residents are encouraged to use water wisely and follow recommended lawn watering guidelines to help conserve one of the community’s most valuable resources.

The Utah Division of Water Resources provides weekly lawn watering recommendations based on current weather conditions and local landscape needs. For Utah County, the current recommendation is no more than three waterings from July 3 through July 9.

Following recommended watering schedules helps maintain healthy landscapes while reducing unnecessary water use.

Residents can help conserve water and maintain healthy lawns by following these practices:

Residents can also schedule a free water check to evaluate irrigation systems and receive recommendations specific to their landscape.

Weather-based irrigation controllers can also help improve efficiency by adjusting watering schedules based on local weather conditions. Residents can learn about irrigation controller rebates and other conservation incentives through SlowTheFlow.org.

Emergency Notifications and Updates

Residents within the impacted pressure zone who are signed up for emergency notifications have received an alert regarding this issue. All residents are encouraged to sign up for emergency notifications to receive important updates directly from Eagle Mountain City.
