EM Prepares to Adopt Community Block Grant Program

Local-Family-Sidewalk

Eagle Mountain City residents are invited to participate in building programs to benefit the community.

The development of the City’s 2026 Annual Action Plan for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program is underway.

As a HUD Entitlement City, Eagle Mountain receives annual CDBG funding to support programs and projects that benefit the community. The City is currently preparing its Program Year 2026 Annual Action Plan, which outlines how CDBG funds may be used to address local housing, infrastructure, and community development needs.

Residents will have the opportunity to learn about proposed projects and provide feedback during a public hearing scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2026, during the regular City Council meeting beginning at 7 PM in the Council Chambers at Eagle Mountain City Hall, 1650 E. Stagecoach Run.

The City’s estimated 2026 CDBG funding allocation is $246,979. Combined with approximately $220,000 in prior-year resources, the total funding available is expected to be approximately $466,979.

Proposed funding allocations currently include:

All funding amounts are estimates and remain subject to final HUD approval.

In addition to the public hearing, Eagle Mountain City will accept public comments on the proposed Annual Action Plan from July 1 through Aug. 4, 2026. Comments received before the close of the comment period will be forwarded to HUD for consideration.

Residents are encouraged to review the proposed plan and share their input on community priorities and potential projects. Additional information about the CDBG program and the City’s planning efforts is available through Eagle Mountain City’s Affordable Housing Division.
