Neighborhood Collaboration at Arbor Day Tree-Planting Event

Eagle Mountain City’s Arbor Day celebration brought the community together and significantly expanded the City’s tree-planting efforts.

Generous donations from Rocky Mountain Power and Layton Construction helped volunteers plant 46 trees—far exceeding the original goal of 20. With these additional resources, volunteers made an even greater impact on the City’s green spaces.

More than 30 volunteers participated in the event, including employees from Layton Construction and the QTS Data Center, representatives from Rocky Mountain Power, and several local families. Volunteers of all ages worked side by side to complete the planting and ensure the event’s success.

High participation created a brief shortage of tools, but organizers quickly secured additional shovels and supplies to keep the work moving. Even with those challenges, volunteers maintained strong momentum and demonstrated a clear commitment to environmental stewardship.

Eagle Mountain Community Forester Alec Boydston said, “We’re grateful for all the help received and look forward to expanding it next year.”

City leaders now plan to build on this momentum by growing the Arbor Day event and exploring additional tree-planting opportunities, including a similar event in the fall.

The Arbor Day celebration continues to give residents and community partners a meaningful way to come together, enhance the environment, and invest in Eagle Mountain’s future.
