Search for Scorpions Under the Night Sky in Eagle Mountain

Eagle Mountain City will host another Scorpion Hunt on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 8:30 PM in partnership with Mucky Boot Pest Control and the Eagle Mountain Nature & Wildlife Alliance.

Using UV and black lights, participants can search the area for scorpions while learning more about these unique creatures and the role they play in Eagle Mountain’s local ecosystem.

The evening will start with a mandatory safety briefing at 8:30 PM at Eagle Mountain City Hall, 1650 E. Stagecoach Run. Participants must attend the briefing to take part in the hunt. Once the briefing is finished, the group will head outside to begin exploring.

Get Ready for the Evening

The hunt takes place outdoors after dark, so participants should dress for the conditions and bring a few items to make the experience more comfortable and useful.

Recommended items include:

• Long pants
• Closed-toed shoes
• Regular flashlight
• Black light or UV flashlight
• Leather gloves
• Bucket

The safety briefing will explain how to participate responsibly and provide information about navigating the area at night. Participants should remain with the group and follow all instructions throughout the event.
