Pony Express Days kicks off summer

Eagle Mountain’s favorite tradition is right around the corner, and it’s shaping up to be one of the best yet.

Pony Express Days, the City’s annual community celebration, returns starting May 28—and with it comes a week full of activities for the whole family, from carnival rides and local performers to fireworks, a parade, and a PRCA-sanctioned rodeo.

“Pony Express Days is a time for the entire community to come together and celebrate who we are,” said Dawn Hancock, Events Manager for Eagle Mountain City. “It’s one of those events where there’s something for everyone—kids, teens, parents, and grandparents.”

The festivities begin with Family Fun Night on Wednesday, May 28, at Nolen Park from 4 to 8 p.m. This free kickoff event features games, food vendors and interactive booths hosted by local organizations. It’s a great way to ease into the week, especially for families with younger kids.

“We love starting off the week with Family Fun Night,” Hancock said. “It has a more relaxed feel, and it’s a great chance for neighbors to reconnect and meet the people who help make Eagle Mountain such a great place to live.”

Next, the action moves to Cory Wride Memorial Park, where the carnival will run for three straight days with rides, treats and non-stop entertainment:

“The parade is one of my personal favorites,” said Hancock. “There’s just something about lining the streets with your neighbors and seeing local schools, businesses and community groups go by.”

And the fun doesn’t stop after the first week.

On Friday, June 7, the PRCA Demolition Derby brings roaring engines and crowd-pleasing crashes to the Pony Express Memorial Park Arena at 7 p.m. This popular event draws fans from across the region, so be sure to grab tickets early.

Then, from June 12–14, the Pony Express Days Rodeo takes over the arena at 7 p.m. nightly, showcasing top professional rodeo athletes and high-energy events like bull riding, barrel racing, and team roping.

“The rodeo honors the western heritage of Eagle Mountain while putting on an incredible show,” Hancock says. “It’s authentic, exciting, and something people look forward to all year.”

Tickets for the rodeo and derby can be purchased online through Pony Express Events.

With so much to see and do, Pony Express Days is a tradition that continues to grow alongside the city itself.

“We love seeing familiar faces each year and also welcoming new residents who are experiencing it for the first time,” Hancock added. “Our goal is always to create moments that bring people together—and I think this year’s Pony Express Days will do just that.”

Mark your calendar, bring the whole family, and come celebrate summer the Eagle Mountain way.
