Higher Education Coming to Eagle Mountain City

Eagle Mountain residents are one step closer to having in person college courses, technical training, and a new high school all within city limits. On April 30, the Lake Mountain School District (LMSD) Board of Education approved the purchase of a 100-acre site in Eagle Mountain that will become a shared education campus with Mountainland Technical College (MTECH) and Utah Valley University (UVU).

What Residents Can Expect

The shared campus is designed to align education with regional workforce needs and reduce barriers between high school, technical training, and a four-year degree. Planned features include accelerated learning options that allow high school students to take college and technical coursework, workforce-focused programs tied to high-demand industries in Utah, and expanded access to certifications and continuing education for adult learners.

A Single Site, Multiple Institutions

Rather than building separate facilities across the region, the partnership places a future LMSD high school, MTECH, and UVU on the same 100-acre property. The goal is a connected pathway where students can move from high school coursework into a degree or certification without changing locations.

“This 100-acre campus represents a bold, forward-thinking investment in the future of our community,” said LMSD Board President Julie King.
