Discover Career Possibilities Through Virtual Reality at Free Youth Event
Choosing a career path can feel overwhelming, especially for students who are still discovering their interests and strengths. Local youth explored a variety of career options during an interactive Virtual Reality career exploration event hosted by the Valley Crossroads Chamber of Commerce.
The free event, held in partnership with the Department of Workforce Services, featured Transfr Trek, a virtual reality career exploration program that helped participants discover potential career paths through interactive experiences.
The experience began with a career assessment that matched participants with occupations based on their interests. Youth then explored different career fields through short virtual reality simulations that provided a glimpse into real-world job tasks and workplace environments.
Participants explored careers in healthcare, construction, technology, public safety, manufacturing, transportation, business, agriculture, and many other industries. The simulations introduced students to the skills, training, and responsibilities associated with a wide range of occupations.
Those who were unable to attend still had another opportunity to participate. The next Youth Career Exploration event was scheduled for Wednesday, August 26, from 1 to 3 PM at the Valley Crossroads Chamber of Commerce.
