City Council appoints new City Recorder
During their regularly scheduled meeting on Feb. 3, the City Council appointed Lacie Messerly as City Recorder.
City leaders welcomed Messerly to the position and expressed confidence in her ability to support the City’s commitment to effective, transparent local government.
Messerly, who is both a member of the City staff and a resident, brings a deep personal connection to the community she now serves in this role.
“What stands out the most about Eagle Mountain is the heart of the community and the energy of a city that is growing with purpose,” Messerly said. “As a resident, I see a place where families truly want to belong. There is a strong sense of pride in calling Eagle Mountain home.”
Messerly also spoke about her experience working for the City and the culture within the organization. “As a staff member, I’ve experienced a supportive and collaborative culture that prioritizes service and thoughtful growth, which has deepened my commitment to the city,” she said.
Looking ahead, Messerly outlined her goals as City Recorder, emphasizing the importance of strong systems and transparency.
“I hope to support Eagle Mountain’s growth by strengthening systems, maintaining clear records, and ensuring transparent processes that serve residents now and into the future, while honoring the strong foundation already in place,” she emphasized.
Messerly reflected on the responsibility of public service saying, “It’s been said, ‘It’s not ours, just our turn,’ and I feel deeply honored to have a turn to serve in a city I live and love.”
