City Council appoints Zachory Huish to vacant seat

The Eagle Mountain City Council convened a special meeting this Thursday to fill a two-year council vacancy.

Following candidate interviews and an anonymous vote, the City Council voted to appoint Zachory Huish to the vacant seat. The vacancy was created when Mayor Jared Gray resigned his City Council seat in Dec. 2025 to take the office of mayor.

Immediately following the meeting, Council member Huish was administered the oath of office by Interim City Recorder, Lacie Messerly.

Members of the existing City Council expressed their gratitude to each candidate for their willingness to serve the community.

Council member Huish will serve through Dec. 2028.
