Jr. Jazz basketball registration deadline coming up
Eagle Mountain City is now accepting registrations for its annual Jr. Jazz Basketball program, one of the community’s most popular youth sports.
The program gives children the opportunity to learn basketball fundamentals, stay active through the winter and experience the excitement of being part of a team.
Registration is open through Nov. 1, with late registration available until Nov. 7. Games begin Jan. 10 and will run through March, held at local Eagle Mountain schools.
“This program is a great way for kids to build confidence and learn teamwork in a fun, supportive environment,” said Jason Hall, Eagle Mountain City Recreation Director. “We see so many returning players each year because they love being part of something that connects them to both the game and their community.”
Each participant receives a team jersey and a voucher for two Utah Jazz tickets. For the younger age groups, Kindergarten through 6th grade players will also earn a participation medal to celebrate their effort and growth throughout the season.
Older players in 7th–8th grade divisions will take part in a single-elimination post-season tournament, where trophies will be awarded to champions and runners-up.
Hall said Jr. Jazz provides an opportunity for families to get involved.
“We rely on volunteer coaches and parents who make this program possible,” he said. “Their energy and commitment are what create the positive experience our kids have on and off the court.”
Registration for the high school division will open later this week, providing another opportunity for students to continue developing their skills and sportsmanship in a local league.
Hall encouraged families to register early.
“Spots fill up quickly every year,” he said. “It’s a program that brings the community together, and we can’t wait to tip off another great season.”
