Free Mobile Mammography Screenings Coming to Eagle Mountain Senior Center
Eagle Mountain City is partnering with Intermountain Health to bring its Mobile Mammography Unit to the Eagle Mountain Senior Center on Tuesday, October 27. The unit will offer 3D screening mammograms to residents on-site, making this potentially life-saving screening more convenient and accessible.
Routine screening mammograms are recommended annually beginning at age 40. According to Intermountain Health, mammograms remain the most effective way to detect breast cancer, often years before a lump can be felt.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among Utah women, and the state ranks among the lowest in the nation for mammography screening rates. This event is part of a broader effort to close that gap and encourage more Utah women to prioritize their health.
Appointments are required, and the mobile unit provides screening mammograms only. Residents experiencing a new breast concern, such as a lump, pain, or thickening, should contact their physician before scheduling a screening appointment.
