Daytime Lane Closure Scheduled along Pole Canyon Blvd.
A daytime lane closure will take place along Pole Canyon Boulevard at Lake Mountain Road.
The lane closure is scheduled from Tuesday, May 12 through Friday, May 22. Work will take place daily between 8:30 AM and 3:00 PM.
The proposed lane closure is necessary to safely construct a new waterline that will connect to the City’s upcoming water tank facility. This infrastructure is critical to maintaining reliable water service for both existing residents and future growth within the service area.
This waterline will significantly improve system capacity, pressure consistency, and fire flow availability. Without this connection, the system would face increased strain as development continues, which could lead to reduced service reliability and limitations on future growth. In short, this is a foundational improvement that supports both public safety and long-term planning goals.
The lane closure allows construction crews to perform the work efficiently and safely within the roadway corridor. Attempting to maintain full traffic access during this type of utility installation would introduce safety risks to both workers and the traveling public, extend construction duration, and increase overall project costs.
To minimize impacts, the closure will be temporary and carefully managed. Traffic control measures will be implemented in accordance with City standards to maintain safe travel through the area, and efforts will be made to limit disruptions during peak travel times where feasible.
“While short-term inconvenience is expected, this improvement ensures long-term reliability of the City’s water system, enhances fire protection capabilities, and supports continued responsible growth. The benefits of this project far outweigh the temporary impacts associated with construction,” said Eagle Mountain Assistant City Engineer David Salazar.
