Eagle Mountain’s Own Drake Allen Helps USU Advance In NCAA Tourney
Eagle Mountain’s own Drake Allen helped the No. 9 seeded Utah State men’s basketball team defeat the No. 8 seeded Villanova Wildcats in the first round of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament on Friday, March 20. USU won the game by a score of 86-76.
Allen finished the game with 11 points on 3-6 shooting, including 1-3 from three-point range. The guard added three rebounds, six assists, and three steals in 33 minutes of action.

Allen’s hometown is Eagle Mountain, Utah. The guard attended Westlake High School in nearby Saratoga Springs before his college career.
He began his college career at Southern Utah University. Allen then transferred to Utah Valley University before joining the Aggies in Logan for each of the past two seasons.
With the win, the Aggies advanced to the second round of the tourney. USU will play No. 1 seed Arizona in the Round of 32 on March 22. Tip-off time for the contest is still to be determined.
