Fall Community Clean-up begins this week

Eagle Mountain City’s annual Fall Community Clean-up starts this week at Cory B. Wride Memorial Park, giving residents an opportunity to dispose of household, yard and electronic waste ahead of the colder months.

The clean-up begins Wednesday, Sept. 10, with evening hours from 4–8 p.m., and continues Sept. 11–16. Hours are 8 a.m.–8 p.m. most days, with the exception of Thursday, Sept. 11, when drop-off will only be available from 4–8 p.m. to accommodate the Hero Parade and Sheriff’s Office lunch that morning. Final drop-offs can be made on Wednesday, Sept. 17, from 8 a.m.–Noon.

A shred truck will also be available on Saturday, Sept. 13, from 10 a.m.–Noon, providing secure document disposal for residents.

“This event has become a tradition that many residents count on,” said Dawn Hancock, Eagle Mountain’s Events Manager. “It’s a chance for families to make more room in their homes and help us keep Eagle Mountain beautiful.”

The Community Clean-up is free for Eagle Mountain residents and provides large dumpsters at Cory Wride Memorial Park for convenient disposal. City staff remind participants to avoid bringing hazardous materials, large appliances, or tires, which cannot be accepted.

“Every time we host the clean-up, the response is overwhelming,” Hancock said. “People are grateful for the chance to get rid of things that might otherwise sit around for months. It helps our whole community.”

The City encourages residents to take advantage of the full week of drop-off times, rather than waiting until the last day, to avoid crowding. Volunteers and City staff will be on hand to direct traffic and ensure the event runs smoothly.
