Eagle Mountain resident invites community to break world record for positivity
Ben Lyne is known to many Eagle Mountain residents as the “runner guy with a sign.”
His simple message — “I BELIEVE IN YOU” — has become a familiar sight in the community as he jogs local streets, offering encouragement to anyone who sees him pass by.
Now, he’s asking the community to help him return that same spirit of support, and maybe make history along the way.
On Thursday, May 22, Lyne will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest line of people holding motivational signs. The event, called Motivation Mile, will take place at Cedar Valley High School and Frontier Middle School, and everyone is invited to join in.
Participants are encouraged to bring a handmade sign with a positive or inspiring message. The goal is to create a line long enough to set a new world record — and maybe even inspire a few smiles along the way.
“Ben has been out there encouraging the community for years,” said Eagle Mountain Communications Manager Tyler Maffitt. “Now, we have the chance to support him and show the country what Eagle Mountain is all about.”
Attendees can start arriving at 3:30 p.m., and lining up will begin at 4 p.m. Early arrivals can enjoy free food while getting ready to take part in the record-breaking attempt.
The event is open to all ages and aims to be a celebration of community spirit, positivity and the power of kind words.
