Eagle Mountain launches annual resident survey

The City of Eagle Mountain has kicked off its annual resident survey, inviting all community members to share their opinions and help guide the city’s strategic planning and budgeting decisions for the coming year.

According to the city’s Economic Development Director Evan Berrett, the survey serves as a vital check-in with the residents covering a broad range of topics from city services to community needs.

“We want to know more about how the services are received, so we can take a beat on how we’re doing as a city and continually get better over time,” Berrett explained.

The annual survey, which has been conducted for over 15 years, is open to all Eagle Mountain residents.

“It could be anyone, really, and you could have you, your husband, wife and even teenagers complete it if you wanted to,” Berrett noted. This year, the city is partnering with a third-party service to streamline the process and ensure that only Eagle Mountain residents’ responses are counted.

Survey results are reviewed by both city staff and elected officials, playing a crucial role in shaping priorities and resource allocation. The findings are also presented to the city council to inform strategic planning and the annual budget cycle.

Over the years, the survey has helped the city identify shifting priorities, such as increased concern for housing or public safety, and adjust its focus accordingly. Berrett further explained, “We see a lot of reinforced themes around housing and planning for growth, parks, amenities and public safety. What makes the biggest difference is the shifts in priorities for people.”

Berrett encourages all residents to participate, highlighting the survey’s accessibility and importance. “We try to make this survey as accessible and easy to complete as possible. It’s a very simple survey to get through that you can do on your phone at any time,” he said.

The survey also includes open-ended questions for residents to share suggestions or concerns not covered elsewhere. “This is probably one of the best ways for residents to be heard,” he concluded. “We really hope to see as many people filling it out as possible, so that we’re getting a great representation of what residents believe about these various questions, so that we can hopefully do as much as good as we can based on the results.”

The city urges all Eagle Mountain residents to take a few minutes to complete the survey and help shape the future of their community.
