Eagle Mountain gears up for annual Christmas Village celebration
Eagle Mountain is ready to welcome the holiday season with its annual Christmas Village festival, set for Saturday, Dec. 6, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Cory Wride Park.
The family-friendly event offers residents a chance to experience festive activities, meet Santa and enjoy a variety of seasonal entertainment.
Guests can enjoy pony rides and a petting zoo, giving kids an up-close experience with animals. A highlight for many families is the opportunity to meet Santa and drop off letters, which he personally responds to after the event.
“Seeing all the kids interact with Santa and their anticipation while waiting in line is my favorite part of putting on this event,” said Events Manager Dawn Hancock.
In addition to Santa and his workshop, visitors will find holiday craft vendors and food trucks. Families can also stroll through tunnel arches decorated with lights, creating a magical walk-through experience leading up to the evening’s main attraction: the tree lighting ceremony.
This year, the tree lighting ceremony will feature a special performance by Cedar Valley High School, which will host a drone show set to music.
The show will take place at the park and coincide with the tree lighting.
Hancock noted that while residents can bring letters to Santa during the event, letters are not accepted outside of Christmas Village, due to the large volume they handle each year.
“We send out 700 to 900 letters after the event. If we were to open it up beforehand, we wouldn’t be able to get them out in time,” she said.
The event is designed to capture the spirit of the holidays while giving families a chance to make memories together.
Residents are encouraged to bundle up, bring their families and get ready to enjoy an afternoon of holiday fun, food, and festive activities.
