City announces multiple board vacancies, residents encouraged to apply
Eagle Mountain City is calling on its residents to get involved in shaping the future of the community.
With several upcoming vacancies across City leadership bodies, applications are now being accepted for key roles, including: Planning Commission, RAP Tax Board, Library Board, Senior Advisory Council and Youth Council.
City Council Vacancy
One anticipated opening is coming soon on the Eagle Mountain City Council. This is a rare chance for a resident to serve in a vital decision-making role, helping guide policies and priorities at the highest level of local government. Applications for the upcoming 2-year seat will open in early January, with more details to be announced.
Planning Commission — One Opening
One seat will soon be available on the City’s Planning Commission, which plays a critical role in directing growth, land use, and orderly development in Eagle Mountain. According to the City’s candidate information guide, the Planning Commission normally has five regular members who meet twice monthly.
RAP Tax Advisory Board — Seven Members
With the passage of the RAP Tax during the November General Municipal Election, a new resident-led RAP Tax Board will be formed. The board is expected to consist of seven local members who will guide how funds are allocated for parks, youth sports, trails, cultural programs and other community projects.
Library Advisory Board Vacancies
The City is also seeking applicants for its Library Advisory Board, which advises on library services, acquisitions, and community programming. The board meets quarterly, and the role offers a meaningful way to support Eagle Mountain’s public library.
Youth Council — Students Wanted
Eagle Mountain is inviting area high school students to apply for its Youth Council, a body that encourages young people to engage in civic life. Youth Council members organize service, recreational, and educational activities, contributing ideas and energy while learning about local governance.
Senior Advisory Council – One Opening
This board serves the interests of senior citizens in Eagle Mountain, and advises the City Council on senior-related matters. They meet regularly for lunch get togethers, activities and volunteer their time serving the community. A requirement for serving on the Senior Advisory Council is being a senior citizen.
