Annual Angel Garden ceremony offers chance to remember lost children

Eagle Mountain City will hold its annual Children’s Day Angel Garden Ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 6, from 6–7:30 p.m. at Pony Express Memorial Cemetery.

The event is a long-standing tradition dedicated to honoring the memory of the children laid to rest in the cemetery and offering families a space for reflection, remembrance and healing.

Families attending the ceremony will be invited to write personal messages on provided ornaments and hang them on the cemetery’s Christmas tree, which is an annual gesture that has become a heartfelt symbol of community support.

“We hope this gathering brings a sense of comfort and connection,” said a letter from Eagle Mountain City’s Recorder’s office, noting that the holiday season can be especially difficult for grieving families.

At 7 p.m., the evening will culminate in a lantern launch. Lanterns will be provided, though families wishing to participate must complete a waiver, as noted by the Recorder’s Office.

Complimentary donuts and hot chocolate will be available throughout the evening to help keep attendees warm.
