Alpine School District considers names for new EM middle school

The Alpine School District is in the final stages of selecting a name for the new middle school, set to open in August 2025.

During a recent school board meeting, members were presented with three potential names following an extensive feedback process.

The naming options for the new school are:

Brian Jolley, the school’s newly-appointed principal, spearheaded the selection process by forming four committees—comprising students, parents and employees—to ensure broad community input.

Alpine School District Board Member Julie Cash King praised the process for its inclusivity and the enthusiasm shown by students.

“I am looking forward to the opening of the new middle schoo in Eagle Mountain,” says King. “This new school will help address overcrowding at Frontier as well as Cedar Valley High School.”

The final decision will be made at the next Alpine School District board meeting.

King encouraged residents to celebrate the effort put into selecting the names, reminding them that students played a significant role in the process.

“This middle school will serve generations of students and I am thrilled we have a principal and staff who are fully committed to the success of our children,” says King.

The new middle school will help accommodate Eagle Mountain’s rapidly growing population and is expected to alleviate overcrowding in Frontier Middle School. Further details about the school’s mascot and logo will be determined after the official name selection.

The Alpine School District Board will vote on the final name during their upcoming board meeting. Community members interested in providing input are encouraged to attend or follow district updates online.
