Library launches Universal Class, offering free online learning
Eagle Mountain residents now have access to a powerful new learning tool completely free with their library card.
The Eagle Mountain Public Library has officially launched Universal Class, an online education platform offering more than 500 non-credit courses on topics ranging from business and career development to health, art, and self-improvement.
Library staff say the new resource reflects their ongoing commitment to providing access to lifelong learning and personal enrichment opportunities for the community.
“We’re always looking for ways to add value for our patrons,” said Library Director Michele Graves. “Universal Class opens up a whole new world of learning, mostly for teens and young adults.”
Universal Class courses are led by real instructors and include lessons, assignments and exams. Subjects range widely, from accounting and computer skills to cake decorating, creative writing, and mindfulness. All users need is a valid Eagle Mountain Library card to get started.
“This resource provides additional accessibility,” said Kristin Allred, Assistant Library Director. “We know that not everyone has time to attend in-person classes or the budget for online subscriptions. Universal Class brings quality instruction straight to our patrons’ devices, anytime they’re ready to learn.”
Allred added that the platform is a great fit for busy parents, working professionals, homeschoolers and retirees alike.
Many of the classes also offer continuing education units (CEUs), which can be valuable for those in certain professions.
The library team encourages all Eagle Mountain residents to explore the platform and see what sparks their interest.
“We really believe there’s something for everyone in Universal Class,” Graves said. “It’s part of our mission to support education and growth at every stage of life.”
