Updated demographics attract more businesses to Eagle Mountain

Eagle Mountain has been actively working to attract new businesses, with a particular focus on sit-down restaurants, hardware stores, and fitness centers.

City officials have been educating potential business owners and decision-makers about the updated demographics and economic potential of the Eagle Mountain area. This has led to a significant shift in business interest with many businesses now expressing a desire to locate in Eagle Mountain. While some businesses are ready to move in, the City is now working to prepare land to accommodate these new developments.

Economic Development Director Evan Berrett emphasized the significance of resident feedback.

“City officials have actively sought and incorporated resident feedback, which has led to adjustments of the initial plans for downtown amenities,” said Berrett.

A two-tiered feedback system ensures that the City’s plans align with the community’s needs and preferences. Input is gathered directly from residents, as well as through the City Council and Planning Commission.

The Eagle Mountain Chamber of Commerce is undergoing significant upgrades to better support local businesses. These enhancements include the development of a Junior Chamber and providing more tools and resources like 3D printers and computers. The Chamber is also hosting academic advisors and counselors from the Utah Valley University Small Business Development Center, making it more convenient for business owners and those pursuing higher education to access the services they need.

“The Chamber is always working to progress and add value, ensuring continuous improvements to its offerings,” said Berrett.

The City continues to emphasize the importance of open communication and encourages residents to share their perspectives on the City’s development plans. Whether through email, phone calls, or in-person meetings, the City is open to all feedback.
