Library to host “Bluey Bash” at Walden Park
Families and fans of the beloved Australian animated series Bluey are in for a treat this summer as the Eagle Mountain Public Library gears up to host its highly anticipated “Bluey Bash.”
The free event will take place Wednesday, June 25, at Walden Park, beginning at 10:15 a.m., and promises a fun-filled morning designed for attendees of all ages.
Organized by the Eagle Mountain Public Library programming team, the event is inspired by the universal appeal of Bluey, the award-winning children’s show known for its heartwarming stories and family-friendly humor.
Library programmer Mandy Paice shared her excitement about the upcoming bash.
“I have been looking forward to doing a Bluey party for quite some time,” Paice said. “Both parents and kids have asked about it, and I knew that it was something that we needed to provide for our community. I think the best part of Bluey is how relatable it is for all ages. It’s something everyone can enjoy no matter what their age is.”
The Bluey Bash will kick off with a dance party to get everyone in attendance energized.
From there, families can explore a variety of themed activity stations inspired by the show’s most popular games and characters. Children can test their skills with Keepy Uppy, a fun challenge where players try to keep a balloon in the air, as well as take part in a story time area featuring ongoing readings of Bluey books under the park’s pavilion.
Other highlights include a coloring station, an obstacle course and face painting, where participants can choose from two Bluey-themed designs. The face painting will use non-toxic paint crayons and is recommended for children ages three and up.
A self-guided Long Dog Hunt and Statues Freeze Dance game will also be available throughout the park for families who enjoy interactive play.
Library programmer Heidi Garces emphasized the library’s goal of creating enriching experiences for the community during the summer months.
“Bluey is such a wonderful role model for kids and adults alike,” Garces said. “We want to give our patrons access to events over the summer that encourage fun and learning, and this event is perfect for that.”
No registration is required to attend the Bluey Bash, and families are encouraged to come dressed in their favorite Bluey gear. The event is open to all ages, making it an ideal outing for siblings, parents, grandparents and even casual fans of the show.
Walden Park provides restrooms and drinking fountains for convenience, and organizers ask that attendees avoid parking in alleyways or blocking residential driveways.
