Neighborhood Watch
Neighborhood Watch is a community-based program that encourages residents to work together with local law enforcement to prevent crime and enhance safety.
By staying alert and reporting suspicious activities, neighbors help protect one another and create a stronger, more connected community. Through regular communication and shared responsibility, Neighborhood Watch fosters a quality approach to maintaining the safety and well-being of Eagle Mountain’s neighborhoods.
Suicide Prevention Training
Looking after your emotional wellness
We offer a 1.5-2 hour QPR training (Question, Persuade, Refer) for anyone interested in learning how to help those at risk of suicide. This training is currently offered for scheduling for individual or groups in January, June, and November.
You are their first line of defense because you are in their everyday life. QPR uses your role as a friend, not as a counselor to help those in need.
In this training, we cover:
- Signs to look for
- Who’s at high risk for suicide
- How to communicate and talk about emotions
- Next steps to get them the help they need
This training is currently offered for scheduling for individual groups. You can contact Cami Brown (camillab@utahcounty.gov) or Steacey Johnson (steaceyj@utahcounty.gov) to arrange a presentation.
Scouts Merit Badges
Scout’s Honor
The Sheriff’s office offers scout badges as part of a program that teaches scouts about law enforcement and public safety. Through interactive activities and educational sessions, scouts can earn badges while gaining a better understanding of the duties and responsibilities of the Sheriff’s office.
- Fingerprinting Merit Badge: Class on fingerprinting and basic crime prevention.
- Crime Prevention Merit Badge: Class on crime prevention following the requirements for the merit badge.
Volunteers in Police Service
The Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS) program engages community members to support law enforcement agencies by assisting with non-enforcement tasks.
Volunteers help with administrative duties, community outreach, and special events, allowing officers to focus on critical responsibilities. This program strengthens partnerships between the police and the community, enhancing public safety and trust.
