Redwood Rd. closes nightly next week at 2100 N. for MVC construction
UPDATE: due to weather concerns, the closure start date has been delayed. Closures will now go into place on Feb. 21.
Drivers in northwest Utah County should prepare for nightly closures on Redwood Road at the 2100 North intersection as crews work on the Mountain View Corridor (MVC) project.
The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) will implement the closures beginning Thursday, Feb. 20, with work expected to continue for up to three weeks.
The closures will take place from 9:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. on weekdays, extending until 7:30 a.m. on Saturday mornings and 9 a.m. on Sunday mornings. During these hours, Redwood Road will be closed to thru traffic, and all left turns at the intersection will be restricted. Right turns, however, will still be allowed in all directions.
Drivers should plan for lane closures, shifting travel lanes, and minor delays on both Redwood Road and 2100 North. UDOT advises motorists to follow signed detour routes to navigate the area safely.
“We recognize that Redwood Road is vital to the transportation network in this area and are working hard to keep traffic moving while we build this key infrastructure,” said Andrew Jordan, MVC Project Director.
The work is part of UDOT’s ongoing efforts to extend MVC by four miles between Utah County and Salt Lake County. The new bridge being built over Redwood Road will ultimately accommodate four travel lanes in each direction, helping to improve mobility in the rapidly growing region.
Motorists can stay updated on traffic restrictions and project developments by joining UDOT’s Mountain View Corridor Facebook group or checking the UDOT Traffic app and website. Construction schedules are subject to change due to weather conditions and other factors.
