Get to know the new City Manager
Eagle Mountain City welcomes City Manager, Benjamin Reeves.
Ben has had a diverse career path, beginning in the private sector. He spent almost 10 years as a computer programmer and project manager for EDS Corporation, working with Xerox. He then transitioned into local government, driven by a long-standing interest in the field and a desire to make a difference.
His city management career began in Utah, over 20 years ago. He then worked for the Bureau of Land Management in Las Vegas before becoming the Santaquin City Manager for 12 and a half years. Most recently, he served in Indianola, Iowa, for almost three years, before deciding to return to Utah to be closer to family.
Family is a clear priority for Reeves. He and his wife have been married for over 16 years. Together, they have raised their blended family of eight children, and the family now includes nine grandchildren, with the majority of them living in Utah.
Regarding his goals as City Manager, he emphasized the importance of creating a value-centered organization to align the core values of the community with available resources.
“It really comes down to not what we want to accomplish, it’s how we want to accomplish it. And that’s where we differ from time to time. And the more I can work as City Manager to bring alignment so that I can achieve the core values of the community, that’s what it’s all about. Ultimately, we’re here to make it a great quality of life for all that we serve,” said Reeves.
