Eagle Mountain Library seeks new advisory board members

The Eagle Mountain Public Library is looking for two residents to serve on its Library Advisory Board.

The group helps guide the library’s efforts to meet the needs of the community.

“Our board members are very important to the library,” says Library Director Michele Graves. “We value the opinions and knowledge they bring.”

The Library Advisory Board works alongside library staff to provide advice on policies, budget proposals and long-term planning. Board members act as advocates for the library, championing its programs and services while ensuring it remains a valuable resource for Eagle Mountain’s growing population.

Graves emphasized the importance of the board’s role.

“Library Advisory Board members are an integral part of the library. They help shape policy, advocate for the library and the community, and provide a range of knowledge that reflects the entire community,” Graves said.

Board members are appointed for two- or three-year terms, with the option of serving a second consecutive term.

Responsibilities include attending regular meetings, becoming familiar with library operations, and contributing to discussions about how the library can continue to grow and improve.

While the board provides advice and advocacy, it does not manage library operations or staff. Instead, members focus on supporting the library’s mission and strengthening its connection to the community.

“We welcome diverse opinions, values and experiences,” Graves said. ”Each board member brings something important to the library and helps to shape the future of our library services.”
