Frequently Asked Questions

Why don’t certain businesses locate in Eagle Mountain? Even though we sometimes see a location of any given business doing really well in another city, they may not be ready to locate in Eagle Mountain. We don’t build for them, and can’t force them to come to Eagle Mountain. Many businesses are highly data-driven now and look for key traits in a population to establish how many likely customers they could have. If you ever have questions about a specific store, feel free to reach out to our Economic Development Director.

Which businesses is the City trying to bring to our community? As a very new city, Eagle Mountain could sustain many new businesses from various industries. The City is targeting some businesses based on resident demand, but also other businesses based on known gaps in the market that align with our community’s preferences and values.

Will we ever see desired businesses in Eagle Mountain? Most businesses, especially those with multiple locations, are really good at identifying their customers and where to find them. Depending on how the city develops over time, we could see many new businesses join our community that we thought we’d never see, and others never join despite being a frequent shopper at a location elsewhere in Utah county. Businesses are looking at customer attributes like median income, daytime traffic (not commuting traffic), median age, and population densities.

Where are all the jobs? Why pursue datacenters? Eagle Mountain City actively recruits companies to Eagle Mountain that provide quality, high-paying jobs for our residents. This effort is paramount to a strong, economically sustainable community and would greatly help our traffic challenges. While datacenters do not provide great density of permanent jobs, they bring in high-capacity infrastructure that can benefit other future employers.
